How commissioning reduces handover risk

Commissioning reduces handover risk by making requirements, field evidence, testing, issues, training, and open items visible before the building is transferred to operations.

Find gaps earlier

When the project follows evidence across design, installation, start-up, and functional testing, missing records or unclear responsibilities are more likely to be identified before they become an operator’s problem.

Give issues a route to closure

An issue log creates a shared place to record findings, priorities, responsibility, status, and resolution evidence. It keeps technical questions from disappearing into meeting notes.

Improve the starting record

Handover is stronger when the owner receives more than isolated test reports: they receive context about what was reviewed, what was tested, and what remains to be completed.
